Our three-day course develops expertise and safety for the next generation of tractor users in Northern Ireland

Rural industry in Northern Ireland has a long and proud tradition of giving young workers the opportunity to learn on the job.

Operating tractors is a classic example of that. But using agricultural machinery involves an element of danger, and tractors are no exception.

Our course enables younger workers to develop or expand on the skills and knowledge required to operate a tractor safely and competently.

Experienced instructors will guide you through three days of training.

You'll be able to use the tractor safely and with confidence. The key fundamentals of driving and loading are covered.

You'll work with some of the attachments and hitching systems that make the tractor such a versatile machine.

There are also sessions on accident prevention and important daily checks.

Course sessions:

  • Preventing accidents

  • Controls

  • Daily checks

  • Driving

  • Mounted implements

  • Automatic hitching systems

  • Trailed machines

  • Field planning.
